Option 1: Manual

Outlook 97/98/2000

  • The Address Book Name can be anything you like, i.e. customers, vendors etc.
  • Note: To use the new address book, you will need to close the Email client and wait (approx. 40 seconds) for the MAPI spooler to shut down, before restarting the Email client.

    Outlook XP

    Option 2. Automate

To assist with automating the install a command line utility is now available 'DNZConfig.exe' to configure the MAPI Profile, so now you can run this from within a login script, batch file or some other scripting program  to install the Dencom Global Address Book Client software

    Sample:

    DNZGAB32.MSI /q
    DNZCONFIG.EXE /A /N "Dencom Global Address Book" /F "Path\export.gab.xml"

    Or

    DNZGAB32.MSI /q
    DNZCONFIG.EXE /A /P %username% /N "Dencom Global Address Book" /F "Path\export.gab.xml"

Or (Read Write Mode: accessing the database directly)

    DNZGAB32.MSI /q
    DNZCONFIG.EXE /A /N "Dencom Global Address Book" /F "Path\database-file.mdb"

    Variables can also be used.
Note: DNZGAB32.MSI is a separate download which is on the download page on our Web Site.

    Additional Information:

When installing the Dencom Global Address Book client there is a Options button (where you configure the Address Book Name and File Name) selecting this you can enable or disable what the Address Types will be displayed in the Address Book. So for example you can uncheck the Fax, so no Fax address type will show in the Address Book.  Note this setting is only available when the client is configured for access the database directly.

For the clients accessing  the ?.GAB.XML file, you can set this option in the Administration Utility under Options and Miscellaneous Options. Then recreate the .GAB.XML file.
